Are you a local artist seeking to show your work but have not found an avenue to do so? Do you enjoy gathering with like-minded artists to create and share resources? Are you just beginning to create and looking to connect with other local artists to pursue your passion? Do you enjoy sharing your talents and teaching workshops? Do you have a desire to bring the arts to our community and beyond? If you answer yes to any of the above, then you and I Love Art Space are the perfect match! Our gallery offers a special place to belong in a beautiful setting along the Valley Trail in West Dover. We are a non-profit organization and funds help to provide art programs for children, youth, young adults and seniors; local residents and visitors to the Deerfield Valley alike. Won’t you join us?
Benefits:
- Member artists connect with each other in a creative way instead of being alone in their own studios.
- I Love Art Space holds regular events at the gallery and workshop space to help promote the member artist’s work.
- I Love Art Space is a member of the Vermont Crafts Council and participates in the Spring and Fall Open Studio Event at no extra charge to the member artists.
- Member artists have the opportunity to participate in other craft and art festivals on a first come first served basis.
- Member artists’ work is shown at other events at no additional charge: I Love art Space craft fairs, other events which are invitation only such as the annual party at Bears Crossing.
- Member artists are invited to show their work in quarterly, themed art shows at the space.
- Member artists get together to discuss I Love Art Space operations and are given the opportunity to offer suggestions to the Board of Directors.
- Member artists are paid for their sales promptly in the first week of each month.
- Member artists do not necessarily need to become a member of the chamber since I Love Art Space already is a member.
Artist Member Responsibilities:
- Artist members are asked to open and manage the gallery for a minimum of 9 hours each four-week period. During peak seasons and vacation times, additional hours may be necessary.
- Artist members pay a monthly membership fee by the first of the month.
- The gallery is insured against injury etc., but not for damage, loss, or theft of artwork. Participating artists are responsible for any insurance they might want for their personal artwork.
- Artist members get the proceeds of any art sold, less 20% commission for the gallery’s operations. The reconciliation will be done and checks written once per month. A 3% fee will be deducted for Square, Venmo and PayPal sales.
- Artist members are responsible for ensuring that all sales are processed correctly and assigned to the appropriate artist. This process enables the bookkeeper to pay each artist for their sales each month.
