Governing Rules

What does it mean to be a member of the I Love Art Space Gallery?

Every participant gets space to show their creative work in the gallery.

Members must be local to the area in order to fulfill their work requirement. (exceptions can be made additional fees will apply)

Each artist sets up their own allotted space, but you may be asked to move after 4 months in the same space. This is to make sure that all members get a chance to be shown in different locations, and in the most prominent spaces. Each month we will feature one artist in our gallery and their work. This will be celebrated by a community welcome gathering the first Saturday of the month.

We are looking for participants who are excited about taking an active part in the space and helping the gallery be a vital and active space in the community.

Obligations of Membership

Artists pay a monthly rent of $50. With two months up front. That helps covers the overall rent for the space. The artist will commit to a minimum of 3 months.

Each member works three 3-3 hour shifts amounting to 9 hours each month, alone in the gallery, taking care of the space and customers.

The gallery is insured against injury etc., but not for damage, loss or theft of artwork. participating artists are responsible for any insurance they might want for their personal art work.

Artist members get the proceeds of any art sold, less 10% commission for the gallery’s operations.

All of the governing rules are laid out in the Guidelines which you will sign before becoming a member. Members get to vote twice yearly to weigh in on how the gallery is run.
