Barry enjoyed a highly successful career in advertising as a creative film editor. Upon retirement, he traded his Avid editing system for a paintbrush, embracing a lifelong passion he had never fully pursued: watercolor painting.
Artistic Journey
Though Barry always had a natural talent for drawing, his demanding career left little time for artistic endeavors. Retirement provided the perfect opportunity to delve into his passion for watercolors, dedicating at least six hours a day to painting. His dedication to mastering the medium is evident in his commitment to learning from top-tier watercolor artists. Barry has taken workshops with renowned figures such as Tony Couch, Charles Reid, Alvaro Castagnet, and Mary Callahan. Additionally, he has participated in online workshops with Tim Wilmot, continuously refining his technique and expanding his artistic horizons.
Areas of Focus
Barry’s artistic passion lies in painting landscapes and portraits. His ability to capture the essence of his subjects has garnered him numerous commissions, particularly for pet portraits and scenic landscapes. His work is characterized by a keen eye for detail and a vibrant use of color, making each piece a unique expression of his vision.
